MK Frustrated by Bees!

MK Dons were frustrated on Friday night by a very defensive Brentford side.

Brentford obviously came to Stadium:MK with a strict game plan – to put 10 men behind the ball and then hit the Dons on the counter.

MK started the match brightly but Andrews and Gallen couldn`t convert their early chances. From this point on the match slowed down and the fans were treated to a boring affair that saw MK create nothing despite dominating possession.

16 minutes in, the Dons were hit with a quick counter. Thorpe headed down Starosa`s cross for Connell to tuck in the opener. Dons were shell-shocked by this and they failed to reply with any urgency. Even MK`s normally infallible skipper had an off game with some awful passes.

Dons continued to frustrate the bored fans as they just ran out of ideas, and it could have been worse for MK, who must thank Willy Gueret for keeping them in the game with some quality stops.

Finally the breakthrough came when Andrews expertly teed up Kevin Gallen to fire home from eight yards out. This was a relief for the fans to see, but that remained it for the rest of the 90.
