It’s the Dons’ equivalent of the Cristiano Ronaldo or Frank Lampard transfer wrangles. The summer transfer story that just will not go away.

Ever since Paul Ince left the club to join Blackburn Rovers, the rumour-mill has been in overdrive about the possible move of club captain Keith Andrews to Ewood Park.

Ince and Andrews got on handsomely at stadium:mk, and their partnership in fact stretches all the way back to the time they spent as team-mates at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The reports have been suggesting for weeks now that Ince has a £1.5m bid for Andrews in his sights, although he didn’t want to make the signing of his old pal his first at his new club for fear of upsetting his new supporters.

However, in the last 24 hours, it has emerged that talks have been held between both parties; that is to say, MK Dons & Blackburn Rovers, and that a fee has been agreed.

In fact, reports indicate that the move is a done deal, with Rovers now waiting for the right time to make the announcement. With Ince chasing Ecuador star Segundo Castillo, it is thought that he wants to secure a big-name signing to the fans before revealing the arrival of his former mate, Andrews.

Castillo has flown out to Rovers’ training camp in Germany, and terms could be agreed within days, also allowing for the Andrews transfer to be cleared by the beginning of next week.
