Northampton Saints chief executive Allan Robson has admitted he may move the Saints to Stadium:MK for high profile matches if an expected council block to expanding their Franklin Gardens stadium occurs.
The Saints, who would have played their Heineken Cup quarter-final in MK last year had they been drawn at home, are currently capable of housing 13,500 spectators.
A minimum capacity of 15,000 seats is required for Heineken Cup knockout matches, and Stadium:MK has previously hosted Rugby, Saracens facing Bristol at Milton Keynes after a fixture clash with Watford at Vicarage Road.
The club are known to be examining all uses for the stadium, and will no doubt welcome the news.
