A report on the Bury -v- MK Dons match published on the Bury official website yesterday has been removed following a wave of protests from Milton Keynes supporters.
The report described the Dons as ‘cheating their way through the game’ and the Dons second goal by Keith Andrews as giving ‘the dirty cheating Dons’ the lead.
When details of the report appeared on ‘Moocamp’, a popular Dons fans message board, a number of supporters contacted the Lancashire club to protest at the article and the unprofessionalism of the journalist who wrote it.
Responding to the protests, Bury Press Officer Gordon Sorfleet contacted individual Dons supporters to apologise on behalf of the club for the inappropriate wording used in the article and promised to rectify it. Shortly afterwards the article was removed from the Bury website.
An updated report is promised on the site and eagerly awaited by vigilant Dons supporters.

‘no smoke without fire’ springs to mind here – what went on to cause this write up I wonder.
Nothing that should give justification to a clubs official site using innapropriate language like this. Apparently the regular journalist was unable to get to the game leaving a young fan to make a name for himself in the world of football journalism – he certainly did that! Fair play to the club too for having removed the offending article as soon as they realised the content and for aplogising to MK Dons fans.
That is innapropriate!

Although I have no love for the Franchise, Bury are out of order big time here. Those are serious accusations they’re throwing about. How old is their reporter? 12?
