Keeper Willy Gueret is on trial with the Dons!

The 34 year old French stopper is on trial with the Dons after finding himself out of favour at Swansea. He made his debut at the 1-0 defeat at Kettering on Saturday and is looking for a contract with the Dons.

Davis Lucas has snubbed the Dons after his terrible performance against Chelsea and after wearing the number one jersey against West Ham. Nathan Abbey is still with the Dons and is expected to be signed over the next week as a number two keeper. Luke Steele is still not out of the frame after completing his trial period with the Dons from West Brom.

This time last year Martin Allen made a £100,000 bid for Gueret that was rejected as he signed a new two year deal at the Liberty Stadium. Ironically the only position Allen failed to cover was in between the sticks.

Ray Mathias told MK Citizen while talking about Gueret: ‘He did well at Kettering at the weekend and we’ll have a look at him in training this week to make sure he’s the one we’re looking for.’

He continued: ‘The goalkeeping position is not done and dusted yet and we are still keeping Luke Steele in mind.
