With the January transfer window closing on Monday, it`s still unclear who, if anyone, will sign MK Dons star midfielder Dele Alli.

The 18-year-old has been attracting interest from some of Europe`s top teams for some months now (with Liverpool the frontrunners), but as of this transfer window it seemed Newcastle had won the race to sign him for a fee of £4million, rising to £5m with add-ons with Alli being loaned back for the rest of the season.

It was then reported that Aston Villa have made a move to sign Alli, offering an initial £2million and then a loan-back, before paying the remainder of the fee in the summer.

Mostly recently, rumours suggest that Tottenham have won the race to sign him.

Meanwhile, the Dons attempts to sign Keith Andrews seem dependant on the sale of Alli.

Dons manager Karl Robinson refused to comment on the Alli situation yesterday but did indicate that there is more than one club involved in trying to sign him.

We`ll just have to wait and see what happens, but the main hope for Dons fans will be that Alli is loaned back to the Dons for the rest of the season, given how vital he has been to the side so far this campaign.
