It’ll only be in a temporary capacity of course, but Jordan Spence is staying with MK Dons for an extended spell.

The defender came in on loan from West Ham a month ago, with that initial loan expiring after the weekend defeat to Bradford but Karl Robinson has successfully agreed an extension until January 4th.

Robinson said: ‘First of all we’re thankful to West Ham United and their manager Sam Allardyce for allowing us to keep him until the new year.

‘He’s done wonderfully well since signing for us and we’re very fortunate to have him until January. He is a typical MK Dons centre-back and they are hard to find.

‘This now gives us consistency in the back four and it’s important over the forthcoming weeks and months while Antony Kay is out, that he’ll be there to fill that void.’

I can’t see that Spence really has a future with West Ham, if he did then at 23 he wouldn’t be shipped out on loan by the premier league side would he?

With that in mind I’d not be at all surprised to see this loan extended further into the new year, or even if a permanent deal could eventually come about if the price was right….
