MK Dons have signed striker Simon Church on a two year deal following his release from Charlton at the end of last season.

Some will undoubtedly question whether Church is the striker we need survive in the Championship. While he made his name at Reading, scoring 22 goals in 104 games, after a string of loan spells the now 26-year-old joined Charlton where he scored just 5 goals in 55 games.

However, Robinson has a history of getting the most out of players, while Church is Wales international and has plenty of Championship experience.

Furthermore, the fact that all three signings the Dons made today (also Cody Cropper and Dale Jennings) are free agents suggests that club could still be ready to make a ‘big-money` signing, especially considering the large, yet ultimately unsuccessful, bid made for Will Grigg.
