Karl Robinson and MK Dons work don’t they? Given the job that Robinson has done as our manager, since stepping up as Paul Ince’s former no.2 five-years ago, it’s little wonder he’s been linked with various jobs. He’s always stayed though and the reward for all was finally the achievement of the Championship dream.

Having guided us to the second tier a report, which isn’t a surprise in the least, in the Daily Mail says that we’re working on a new long-term extension to his existing contract.

In each of his first two seasons in charge we finish fifth in League 1, missing out in the play-offs. The next two seasons, which weren’t as successful, resulted in us missing the play-offs altogether as we ended up in eighth and tenth but this season we got the job done and finished as runners-up to Bristol City to pip Preston to automatic promotion on the final day.

Amazingly, even more so given that he’s still only 34, Robinson is the third longest serving manager in the country with the likelihood being that this is likely to remain the case with him staying at the stadium:mk for a while longer, whatever next season brings.

The saying goes ‘if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’, with that in mind I can’t see him going anywhere for sometime but if a new deal is on offer we’ll get this signed, sealed and delivered ASAP!
