Karl Robinson, as he told the official website, is more than happy with the loan capture of Spurs right back Adam Smith.

Smith joined The Dons on a season long loan deal on Tuesday with Robinson believing that he is more than capable at league one level: ‘Adam is a young full-back who adds strength and quality to our side. He has already proven he can cope at this level and possibly should even be playing in the Championship.’

Other clubs were interested in the 20-year-old, which makes his signing all the more impressive: ‘we’re very fortunate to have acquired his services because a lot of clubs were looking at him, but thankfully we were able to hold out until he came back from the Under-20s World Cup and I think it was worth waiting for a talented player.’
