Manager Karl Robinson has hailed an excellent showing by MK Dons in our two nil victory over Scunthorpe United on Tuesday evening.

With on loan striker Will Grigg grabbing another brace this month to give us the two goal advantage at half time, Dons saw it out and that was how the game finished.

Whilst being delighted over all as he spoke to the press following the game, the manager wasn’t too impressed with some ‘whistling’ during the second period as we saw the game out professionally.

‘When you start that well it`s impossible to sustain that because I thought we were outstanding. We knew tonight they`d had an extra day`s rest, so we knew they`d be fresher than us and have more energy than us so we knew we had to put the game to bed really early on. I`m a bit disappointed with some of the whistles in the last 20 minutes, they were told by me to take the sting out of the game. Should we go and commit ourselves forward and leave one-on-one or two-versus-two at the back? If you only give me 2-0s or 3-0s from now until the end of the season I`ll take it! I`m really happy with the performance today, the whole team`s performance.’

Robinson went on to say that he knows fans want three or four in games like that, but he doesn’t want the team to show any stupidity in getting the third goal and then see us concede and turn it into a scrappy ending.

Having referenced the fans disappointment at not seeing us go on and kill the game off further, Robinson was again full of praise for the fans overall though and he did kind of understand their disappointment – but not all the time.

‘The fans were brilliant in the first half. There were some people behind me who started shouting ‘rubbish` when we kept it for 110 passes and nearly scored with Daniel Powell. But listen, the fans who were there on Saturday and the fans in the East and West Stands who started singing, we hear it, we really do, it`s so so important. I really appreciate all the support you`re giving us. It`s growing, we know we can do better, we`ve now got two big away games at Port Vale and Fleetwood so it`s a lot of travelling.’

Ending the interviews, Grigg came in for specific praise as you’d expect.

‘He`s scored 19 goals and covered about 15 miles – incredible. He`s a tremendous example for any younger fan and he has workrate in abundance.’
