Promotion into the Championship is something that Karl Robinson, rightly so, said was something we wouldn’t ever forget with this a moment that will always be special to him whatever happens next.

What happens next though could come down to what sort of backing he gets and he’s told the BBC that he’ll need funds to spend this summer if we’re to compete at Championship level and go onto ‘bigger and better things.’

‘We don’t want to be a number, we want to compete, but we need to spend

‘If we want to compete, we need to spend money on the right players. We’ve got some young players, players who will grow with us and get better.

‘This is the biggest day in our history, hopefully we can now go onto bigger and better things.’

Chelsea loanee midfielder Lewis Baker could be one that we look to loan again following the impact that he made with us following his arrival for the final months with a deal for Brentford loanee Will Grigg probably something we’ll chase.

Robinson pointed to the way that these players, and the other loanees celebrated, as to how much it meant to them that we’ve gone up and the same applies to Dele Alli who joined Spurs for £5m in January only to come back on loan.

‘You can see what it means to the players, even the loan players who are all jumping up and down.

‘Lewis is only here on loan, but look what it means to him.

‘We wish Dele luck. He moves on now, he set his stall out at the beginning of the season to move for millions and get the club promoted and he’s done that.’

It’ll be interesting to see what also happens with Alli? If he’ll not be a regular in the Spurs first-team in the Premier League then a loan return to us could be on the cards? Robinson right though that he’ll need to be given some funds to strengthen the squad.
