MK Dons manager Karl Robinson was thrilled with the attitude of his players in their 2-0 win over QPR.

After Dean Lewington`s opening goal on 49 minutes the Dons responded well to Murphy`s penalty miss with four minutes to go to claim three points and make it 2-0 with another penalty, this time through Reeves, just before the final whistle.

Robinson told Milton Keynes Citizen:

“I thought the way we conducted ourselves after that penalty was excellent. We could have fallen off the wagon, but we stuck to our guns.

“We`ve won the game, that`s the most important thing. Hopefully we can build on this now, because we`ve got a massive game at The Valley on Tuesday.

“We were excellent. We just didn`t want to be out of the game in the first half. We`ve had good halves recently, but we had to be disciplined. We were sensational in the second half.”

Robinson also praised Antony Kay. The central defender, who has received criticism of late, replaced the injured Joe Walsh and performed well.

Robinson said: “He got a bit of criticism for scoring the own goal at Leeds, but Antony Kay has been an incredible servant to this football club. I`ve got a lot of respect for him. He gives this club everything.

“Sometimes you make mistakes, but he wears that shirt with pride and he puts everything on the line. He leaves nothing to chance.

“Will he be here next season? We`ll have to see in the summer, but he`s been an unbelievable servant to this club. He played a massive part in keeping a clean sheet.”

January signing Alex Revell, with his unstoppable power and commitment, spearheaded the Dons attack although Robinson will disappoint some fans in insisting that his striker rotation policy will continue, adding:

“Revs showed you why we brought him in, but we`ll keep rotating him and Nicky Maynard. They`ve got a great relationship. We`ve got two great Championship strikers now.”

Surely, however, we are a better team with Revell than with Maynard? Sufficed to say, we`ll take any formula which yields a positive result at Charlton on Tuesday.
