MK Dons manager was thrilled with 3 points from his side`s 5-0 victory away at Crewe, but despite it putting them top of the table he refused to get too excited given we are only half-way through the season.

While the Dons did beat Crewe 6-1 at home back in September, the Railwaymen had been performing well of late, including a victory over Bristol City, and Robinson recognised how good a result that makes yesterday`s scoreline.

He told BBC Three Counties Radio:

‘To come here with a statement of intent was important for all the players. I think that was important today, after the weather was difficult and the pitch was firm.

‘The way the players have worked all week and took things on board is a real sign of character from them.

“Sheffield United and Bristol have come here and not got a point so it`s a real sign of intent from us.

‘No one is getting carried away, as you can imagine. We just worry about ourselves and that’s all we can do.”

New signing Devante Cole marked his Dons debut with a brace at Crewe and Robinson could only praise the Manchester City loanee:

“He`s got some tremendous ability and there`s so many things to his game he can improve as well. What he`s got is something you can`t coach, that ability to arrive in the box at the right time.”

Up next for Robinson is a huge top of the table clash against Bristol City on Saturday.
