MK Dons weren’t able to get a fifth successive win, for the first time in three-years, against struggling Port Vale, who ended a six-match losing run, with us frustrated in a draw at Vale Park.

Had we managed to get all three-points, instead of sharing them in the nil-nil draw on Saturday, we would have closed the gap on Preston by two-points leaving us just three-points adrift of second after the drew with League 1 leaders Bristol City, the gap remains at five-points therefore.

Dodds had the clearest sighter of the game when Williamson picked him out but the Port Vale man couldn’t hit the target, nor could Coulibaly after coming off the bench.

We struggled to create any chances, barely registering any on target, and had Hodson to thank that we went away with even a point in the end as he cleared off the line from Marshall’s effort.

It’s frustrating as this is points dropped against a relegation threatened side, more so knowing that Preston also dropped points!
