Antony Kay has found himself a new club.

The experienced defender, who was one of those that Karl Robinson decided to release this summer so he could look to bring in some fresh faces, will take that experience to Gigg Lane next season having penned a deal with MK Dons’ League 1 rivals Bury.

Kay, who came to MK Dons from Huddersfield, having also had spells with Barnsley and Tranmere, has signed a two-year deal with Bury following his Dons release.

In making this move the 33-year-old central defender becomes the first signing Bury have made with Shakers boss David Flitcroft admitting to his clubs official website this is a deal he’s been looking to do for sometime now.

‘Anthony is a player we have been pursuing for the last six months and I am absolutely delighted to reveal him as our first summer signing. We have been working on securing his services since Christmas. He is a player of great character and has the leadership qualities required to reduce our goals conceded stats for next season.’

No doubt Kay will get a good (in fact great) reception when he comes up against MK Dons next season and we’ll wish him well.

Apart from when he faces the Dons!
