A Brief History Of?
Leven spent four years learning his trade with Rangers between 2000 and 2004, when he was just a teenager. He didn`t manage, however, to figure in the Gers` first team under Dick Advocaat or Alex McLeish and left for Kilmarnock in 2004. Peter spent three seasons at the club, but failed to establish himself as a first-team player. He made 65 appearances during his stay with the club, scoring five goals in the process, but decided to snub a new contract in search of regular football in the summer of 2007. Leven then decided to venture south of the border to cut his teeth in the Football League, and joined Chesterfield last summer on a free transfer. He quickly forced himself into the side as a regular, and even managed to displace Aaron Downes for the club captaincy during the campaign. He appeared in 44 of Chesterfield`s 49 games last season, however following the Spireites` failure to achieve promotion from League Two, he decided to move on again this close-season. He confirmed his free transfer to MK Dons on 6th June, and will officially become a Dons player on 1st July. He arrives at the club with a reputation as an accurate passer and incredibly hard worker, attributes that quickly made him a fans favourite at Saltergate. He figured in both games between Chesterfield and the Dons last season, a 2-1 Dons defeat in November and a 2-1 Dons victory in March.

You May Not Have Known?
Chesterfield had a host of offers on the table for Leven in January, of around £100, 000 from Luton Town, Oldham Athletic, Brighton & Hove Albion and MK Dons. The club decided against selling their main midfield man in a bid for promotion, but their gamble did not come off and they ended up losing him this summer for nothing.
