Ahead of the final two pre-season friendlies Daniel Powell revealed his fears of déjà vu, and how he hoped to get through the final two unscathed!

The winger picked up an ankle ligament injury just ahead of the 2013/14 season and this meant he was sidelined until September, by which time he found it a stop start season.

Powell, ahead of the games with Brackley Town and Leicester City, had those concerns in his mind with him keen to avoid a repeat scenario with him keen to get the 2014/15 season underway.

Last week he told the official website: ‘This time last year I got injured so the main thing for me is just to keep fit and keep my confidence high.

‘The best thing to do is just put it to the back of my mind and get to the start of the season which I can’t wait for.’

Fortunately for us, and the 23-year-old, he came through these games fine!
