It’s being reported in the press that Brentford have knocked back our reputed £600,000 offer for striker Will Grigg.

With manager Karl Robinson talking about not doing early deals and the fact we will have to look at loan deals given comparative finances, it appears we may have made one early move for a permanent transfer in the shape of the striker who spent our promotion year on loan with us, playing 50 games, scoring 22 goals.

It’s said that Brentford are holding out for around £1million for the 23 year old, but equally with them changing the management structure and still to appoint a head coach for next season it could be they are holding fire to let the new man take a fresh look at him.

Having joined Brentford back in 2013 from Walsall, Grigg only has 12 months left on his contract.
