Shaun Williams has signed a contract extension with MK Dons, having impressed since his arrival from Sporting Fingal.

The midfielder, who was signed in March, will stay with The Dons until 2013 at least.

24-year-old Williams has been used as a defender and has impressed Karl Robinson, as he told BBC Three Counties Radio, with his performances so he is happy to have tied him down: ‘I’m really pleased with the way Shaun’s come on as a central defender this year.

‘We’ve probably kept most of our clean sheets with him and Gary MacKenzie at centre-half.’
