The first-team squad have returned home from their pre-season jaunt in sunny Portugal, with the trip being viewed as a success all round.

The departure date coincided perfectly with the arrival of new manager Roberto Di Matteo, with the Italian barely having time to acclimatise to his new surroudings before jetting off to the Algarve.

The players were involved in a rigourous regime, with three sessions a day in the sun-drenched Portuguese coastal town. However, it has allowed the new manager to make an early assesment of his players, and to fully comprehend exactly what he has let himself in for.

Now back home in rain-soaked Milton Keynes, Di Matteo can get down to some serious business, starting with adding some bulk to the Dons’ thread-bare squad.

The season kicks off with a trip to Leicester City on August 9th.

First bit of business on return was to get rid of Cameron, hopefully RDM has a few signings waiting to be announced. Otherwise our squad is becoming a bit of a joke, size-wise.
