When Will Grigg joined MK Dons last summer on a season-long loan from Brentford we knew that we were getting a player that was capable of playing at League 1 level, as he had proven this previously.

Although I don’t think that too many of us would have expected him to be quite as successful as he was with his 22-goals playing a big part in our promotion to the Championship! But will these be the only goals he scores for us?

Mark Warburton, the Brentford manager who deemed the 23-year-old ‘surplus to requirements’ at Griffin Park this season, is parting company with Brentford after their play-off bid so Griggs future will be dependant on the new manager in place.

Karl Robinson though has again made it quite clear, in quotes carried by MK Web, that he wants him back at the stadium:mk next season but knows it’s down to a number of factors.

‘We’d like him to be an MK Dons player. But for as much as we’d like him, that’s not up to us, it’s up to Will Grigg, his people and Brentford.

‘We’d like him here 100 per cent and we would like to think we would be making contact with Brentford.

‘They’re a club that are going to be taken over by a new head coach in the summer so you just don’t know the understanding of where he’s at with anything whatsoever.’

All we can do now is sit, wait and see what happens, which is very much a view that Grigg himself has shared but he also made it clear that he’s ‘absolutely loved it here’ too!
