Due to the fact that his contract is now running down MK Dons are keen to open talks with Stephen Gleeson.

Gleeson has been a key figure for the club since his arrival from Wolves in 2009 and as such Karl Robinson is keen to extend his deal, now that he has moved into it’s final year.

Robinson, as he told BBC Three Counties Radio, said: ‘I think the world of Stephen Gleeson; he’s a wonderful talent.

‘He’s someone I’m desperate to keep hold of – he knows that. We both wear our hearts on our sleeves and we’re having discussions.’

There’s little doubt that the 24-year-old could play at a higher level, however hopefully this will be with MK Dons for a long time to come.

Despite rumours to the contrary Robinson insists that no offers have come in for the midfielder, and he doesn’t invite them!
