MK Dons have been linked with Carlisle midfielder Kyle Dempsey, and might have made a bid for him.

Carlisle turned down a bid from a League 1 club, thought to be Barnsley, on Monday, for around £300,000 – 400,000.

However, Carlisle have today revealed that they have received a fresh bid from a Championship side, rumoured to be around £450,000. Both the Dons and Huddersfield have been linked with Dempsey, and both sides could be attempting to sign him.

Dempsey scored 11 goals in his 44 appearances for Carlisle last season in his first season as a professional. The 19-year-old fits the profile of the sort of player Robinson wants to sign – young, talented, and if possible on a permanent deal – although the price would be right at the top of the Dons` limited budget.
