Preston, in fairness, went into today unbeaten in 18-matches so few would argue had they gone up as runners-up to Bristol City, but with them beaten at Colchester and us beating Yeovil we went up!

Going into today’s game at the stadium:mk we knew that we had to better what Preston, who if they won would have done it, did and it would be enough to see us gain promotion into the Championship…. Which was exactly what we did as an emphatic five-one win over already relegated Yeovil meant that we did our part.

With Colchester, who needed to win to stay in League 1, beating Preston one-nil at the Weston Homes Community Stadium it meant that we, with a ninth win in our last 11-matches, not only celebrated Karl Robinson’s Manager of the Month award on Friday but celebrated our promotion into the second tier in English football having gone close so many times over the years.

Let the festivities begin! We are going up say we are going up!
