Jake Livermore has joined Crewe Alexandra on a six-month loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur.

The midfielder, 18, spent a month on loan at stadium:mk in March last season, but only made just five substitute appearances, and failed to make an impact.

Livermore said, ‘I am looking to progress with my career, so getting some first-team football was my main objective.’

‘Crewe have a reputation for giving youngsters a chance, so I was delighted when the coaches at Spurs told me I might come here.’

‘I also spoke to Lee Barnard (ex-Crewe loanee) and he said it was a great environment.’

Crewe will be battling with the Dons in League One this campaign, so we could be seeing more of Livermore in the coming months.
