It seems that the drawn-out transfer saga of the summer is drawing to a close, as MK Dons captain Keith Andrews arrives for a medical at Blackburn Rovers this morning.

Rovers manager, and former Dons boss, Paul Ince, has been chasing his former team-mate and captain since moving to Lancashire himself from Milton Keynes earlier this summer.

The League Two Player Of The Year last campaign has made his feelings about moving on perfectly clear in recent months, after a revealing interview with SkySportsNews, whereby he claimed he ‘was too good for League One.’

Shortly after those comments were made, the player was placed onto the transfer list at the club, only for a strikingly few amount of bids to be received by the club.

In recent weeks he has been removed from the transfer list, and appeared to be willing to play a part in Roberto Di Matteo’s new era at the club, but has since failed to feature in the squad for the past several weeks.

Vital Dons understands that the skipper was even at Ewood Park last weekend, as a guest of Ince, watching his prospective new team-mates in action.

A rumoured bid is understood to have been accepted by the club, in the region of £500,000 up front plus a possible additional £800,000 in add-ons.

The deal could be completed in the next twenty-fours and, as ever, we will endeavour to keep you up to speed.
