McLeod Wins Major Award

MK Dons free-scoring striker Izale McLeod has scooped the League Two ‘Player of the Year’ award at the annual football league awards ceremony held in London on Sunday evening.

The prestigious annual event attended by the football worlds elite was held at Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane.

McLeod is currently league two’s leading scorer with 21 goals despite having to miss 9 games through suspension.

McLeod was on the score sheet again on Saturday after putting away another of his trademark individual goals against Boston and he has been key to the Dons successful season so far which sees them currently lying in third place and competing for automatic promotion.

Other winners at the awards ceremony included Jason Kumas of West Bromwich Albion who won Player of the Year for the Championship and Billy Sharp of Scunthorpe United who won League One.

MK Dons were nominated for awards for the best kit design and best marketing campaign which were won by Burnley and Norwich City respectively.
