MK Dons goalkeeper David Martin has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

The last of out-of-contract Dons players to re-sign, Martin will remains at the club until June 2017.

The 29-year-old was crucial to last season`s promotion, making a record 20 clean sheets, and while there is still work to do on the rest of the squad, the Dons can now be confident they have a strong defence.

Martin also has new signing Cody Cropper to challenge him for the number 1 slot.

He told mkdons.com:

“I`m buzzing to have signed a new deal here. It`s been a great summer for me, personally, and now I get to spend another two years at this great club.

“After promotion I had to do my coaching badges, which took a bit of time up and then I had week before my wedding and honeymoon. Once I got back we got it done and now I can`t wait for the season to start.”
