The 2014/15 season is just around the corner now with Milton Keynes Dons signing off from pre-season with a defeat against Leicester City on Monday night.

MK Dons’ final pre-season friendly of the summer saw Leicester come to the stadium:mk and the premier league side proved too strong as they went away with a 2-0 win.

Benik Afobe, fresh from his season-long loan signing from Arsenal, was put straight into the starting XI by Karl Robinson but it was Leicester that took the lead through David Nugent’s deflected effort midway through the first half, and they went into the break one-nil up.

Midway through the second half Leicester struck again with the bosses son James Pearson scoring a belter into the top corner to secure a two-nil win for the topflight side, with his strike earning applause from all at the stadium:mk.

The next game at the ground will be the league 1 opener against Gillingham this weekend!

MK Dons (4-2-3-1): Martin; Hodson (Baldock 74), McFadzean (Hickford 85), Kay (Tingey 85), Lewington (Tilney 74); Potter (Trialist 68), Alli (Randall 68); Green (Rasulo 79), Reeves (Hitchcock 53), Bowditch (Powell 46); Afobe (Trialist 68).
Subs not used: McLoughlin (GK), Burns (GK), Flanagan, Summerfield.
