Lee Hodson’s future will be at the stadium:mk with it announced that the former Watford defender has signed a new contract with MK Dons.

The Official Website confirmed that the Northern Ireland international had put pen to paper on a new two-year contract.

It wasn’t the best of season’s for Hodson personally as, like has often been the case since he arrived, the 23-year-old was sidelined by injury but he’s feeling good and ready to kick on for us in the Championship.

‘Last year wasn’t great because of the injuries but now, with this new deal, I can work to get back as fit as possible and give it a right go.’

Signing this new contract wasn’t something that he had to think too much about either

‘There were a number of reasons why I wanted to stay – there’s a good bunch of lads here, the manager is great and the fans have always been good to me.

‘It’s a chance to play Championship football again. I’m sure every player at the club wanted to take that next step up to this level and I’m no different – I’m really looking forward to next season.’

The Championship is a level that he’s familiar with as he turned out plenty of times for Watford at this level between 2008 and 2012.

Karl Robinson added: ‘Lee had a difficult time last season with injuries but he proved when he was available what a quality player he is. He played over 80 games in the Championship during his time with Watford so he knows what it takes to compete at that level.’

Hodson has undoubted ability, the longer he can stay injury free the better it’ll be for us over the next two-years, at least, that we have him here.
