Brendan Galloway made his MK Dons debut as a 15-year-old and despite our desire to keep him last summer we lost the talented teenager to Everton with his patience and hard work throughout the campaign paying off as he made his full debut against West Ham on Sunday.

The 19-year-old has told the Official Everton Website that he wasn’t expecting to be involved in the two-one win over West Ham and only found out he would be starting, coming in for the injured Leighton Baines at left back, 90-minutes before kick-off.

Upon finding out he would start it fulfilled his dream and made all his hard work and effort worthwhile.

‘I’ve worked hard all season and to get rewarded like this is what dreams are made of.

‘I found out at 1.30pm when the manager named the team. I wasn’t expecting it. I worked hard in training this week but I didn’t expect to be given the nod, but when I did I was really happy and looking forward to it.’

Galloway’s performance was praised by his Everton manager Roberto Martinez.

This also something that will mean something to us to see one of the players that’s come through our own academy to play for one of the top sides in the country, which is what we’re striving to become ourselves, makes you proud.
