Last time out despite defeat we came off the pitch with our heads held high and the boss content with what he had seen.

Karl Robinson was left fuming following MK Dons’ 3-1 defeat at Colchester on Tuesday night though.

He was left in little doubt that we were lucky that we weren’t beaten more convincingly and was left ashamed of what he saw and unable to take any positives.

In fact a positive could well be that it wasn’t the hammering that it looked it could have been!

Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio: ‘I’m disgusted, I’m absolutely embarrassed. There isn’t one positive to come out of that.

‘I apologise to the fans who came, they deserve better than that.

‘Colchester have battered us here tonight, I’m lucky I’m not stood here with it being six. That should have been six.

‘I do not want to speak to them (the players) tonight!’

Patrick Bamford will be disappointed that he didn’t take a chance to give us an early lead, which could have made for a different game, before Craig Eastmond opened the scoring. Our former player Jabo Ibehre made the most of a Jordan Spence error to make it two.

Spence made amends somewhat by reducing the deficit before Macauley Bonne rounded things off.

The win for the U’s is their first win against us since 2010, which stretches over seven games….

Saturday best see some dramatic improvement, that’s all I can say!
