Winger Dale Jennings has been released by Barnsley, suggesting that a return to the Dons, where he spent time on loan in 2013/14, could be on the cards.

Four years ago Jennings secured a move to European giants Bayern Munich but has today has had his Barnsley contract terminated by mutual consent, the team he moved to for £250,000 in 2013.

It could be suggested that if Jennings isn`t wanted by a League 1 team he`ll not be useful for the Championship, but he impressed Karl Robinson in his previous Dons spell and at only 22 remains a good prospect. Indeed, with a lack of funds the Dons will need to utilise free transfers such as this one as they look to build their team for next season.
