MK Dons goalkeeper Charlie Burns has signed a new one year deal with the club.

The second contract renewal of the day after Antony Kay this morning, will see Burns remain at the club until June 2016, with the option of a further year.

The 20-year-old academy product has made only one senior appearance at the Dons, on the last day of the 2013/14 season, but impressed on loan at Truro last season as they won promotion to the conference south.

While second keeper Ian McLoughlin has been released the expectation is that Robinson will bring in another reserve keeper with Burns possibly having another loan spell. Hopefully he can progress and maybe one day will be wearing the number 1 shirt.

Burns told mkdons.com: “I`m absolutely over the moon to be a part of the Club for another year. I feel like I`ve really settled in with the first team and the experience of being around the matchday squad last season was invaluable.

“I know where my weakness and strengths lie and I just want to continue improving next year. Hopefully I`ll get a little bit of football too, whether that be on loan, with the first team or in reserve games.”
