Extra Time winner for the blades sinks spirited Dons.

After the excitement and drama of the Ipswich match, this cup-tie had a lot to live up to. The match in the end did go to extra time and the Dons were unlucky to go out.

Drewe Broughton opened his Dons goal account with a goal from about 6 yards out after Jude Sterling`s pass.

The Dons were not long in front however as Chris Lucketti levelled soon after.

N the second half United were ahead after a Nikki Law Goal. As the Dons looked to be going out of the Cup in normal time JP Mcgovern`s deflected free kick rippled the back of Paddy Kenney`s net and sent the home crowd wild. Dons looked like the better team in the last 10 minutes of normal time but could not find that all important goal.

Extra Time was once again upon us and in the first half of the extra 30 substitute Geoff Horsefield scored the winner.

The Dons team played with grit and passion and gave the Championship big guns a real run for their money.
