MK Dons right-back George Baldock has signed a two-year contract with the option of a further 12 year, but will spend all of next season on loan at Oxford United.

While Baldock made 46 appearances in 2013/14 he only made 14 last season, although impressed on loan at Oxford, becoming a regular in the side.

Being behind both Jordan Spence and Lee Hodson in the rankings for the right back slot, it seemed Baldock`s time at the Dons could have been nearly over, but the length of this new contract suggests he`s a part of Robinson`s long-term plans.

The Dons boss told Milton Keynes Citizen:

“I believe George has a tremendous future at this club,” he said. “We`ve got two right backs at this club. We only converted him to that position 12 months ago.

“So I want George to play a full season. Oxford are a team who will compete in League 2.

“I`d rather him be a full player than a bit part here.”
