Manager Karl Robinson has now revealed his retained and released list going into next season.

The following players are currently considering the new deals they have been offered.

David Martin
Lee Hodson
Dean Lewington
Tom Flanagan
Antony Kay
Dean Bowditch

MK Dons have also exercised the 12 month options they held on the contracts of.

Jordan Spence
Carl Baker
Daniel Powell
Charlie Burns

However the following two players have been informed they won’t be offered fresh terms and will depart the club when their current deals expire on June 30.

Ian McLoughlin
Will Summerfield

The gaffer told the Official Site that obviously holding meetings about the futures of players isn’t an enjoyable part of the job, but he wanted to be as loyal as he could given our promotion this season and keep the vast core of the squad together.

‘The only ones who haven`t got offers are Will and Ian, who should be number 1 somewhere. That`s more for the benefit of his career and we wish him all the luck in the world. He`s been a great servant but he`s at the age where he needs to play. Everyone else is as it was so we go again. I wanted to be loyal.’

As for strengthening and fresh recruits, the 34 year old admitted his phone had been off the hook talking to agents and clubs so far this summer as we look to strengthen to at least survive our year in the Championship.

‘It`s been hectic, plenty of phonecalls. We have to get it right for the Football Club and we`ve been in Holland, Belgium, France and Spain. We are not equipped to be competing with the bigger hitters in the Championship – we are one of the small boys. It`s hard shopping in this country because we aren`t a big boy in this league.’

Robinson added that in many ways with a disparity in finances we had to ‘respect’ and accept loan deals to make sure we continue moving forward as a club in 2015-16.

‘We need to respect the fact that we will rely on loans. We won`t be able to do any early deals because of the league we are in and the teams we are up against, but we`re pushing things and have spoken to a few players about coming in on loan. It`s very busy behind the scenes – it`s been my busiest summer as manager so far.’
